I'm Rodney Travis, an 8-year Marine Corps disabled veteran with a passion for BBQ that I'm thrilled to share with the world. My journey into the world of barbecue began in Charleston, South Carolina, where I discovered the joy of southern cooking. In the Marines, indulging in such culinary delights wasn't always an option, so when I tasted authentic Texas inspired BBQ for the first time, I was hooked.

Inspired by the flavors and techniques of Charleston's top-tier BBQ scene, I embarked on a quest to learn the art of barbecue. My journey started with humble beginnings, fueled by a desire to recreate the mouthwatering dishes I'd come to love. Like many, I turned to YouTube to hone my skills, learning from seasoned pitmasters and BBQ enthusiasts who generously shared their knowledge.

Despite the inevitable challenges and setbacks, my passion for cooking never wavered. Memories of family gatherings filled with laughter, good food, and cherished traditions fueled my determination to keep the spirit of BBQ alive. As I grew older, I noticed a decline in these communal experiences, and I knew I wanted to play a part in reviving them.
